What we collect

PoolWatch NZ collects only what is necessary to provide the service:

Email address — when you sign up for Pro alerts. Used only to send pool status alerts and service emails.
Pool preferences — which pools you choose to watch. Stored in our database to deliver relevant alerts.
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Usage data — your browser stores your saved pools and Pro status locally (localStorage). We do not track page visits or set analytics cookies.

IP addresses

We verify your IP address to prevent abuse and keep the service available, but we do not log, store, or retain it, and it is never linked to any information that identifies you.

Stripe

We use Stripe for payment processing. When you pay, Stripe may collect personal data including transactional data and device identifiers. You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

To verify your Pro subscription status
To process payments via Stripe

We do not sell, share, or trade your personal information with third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data retention

Your email and pool preferences are retained for as long as you have an active Pro subscription. When you unsubscribe or cancel, your data is deleted from our systems within 30 days.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time via the "Report an issue" button on any pool page. Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access and correct information we hold about you.

Cookies

PoolWatch NZ does not use tracking cookies. Your saved pools and Pro access are stored in your browser's localStorage only.
